Gifts In-Kind

Land or Property Donations – Your generosity may be expressed through donations of land for building Habitat houses or an existing structure for renovation. We would love to speak with you about your site and how families may benefit from your donation. Please contact our office so that we may have further discussions.

New Building Material Donations – If it can be used to build a house, we need your new building materials and welcome donations. All such in-kind donation items must conform to the individual project specifications, so please contact our office to discuss further. If we can’t use materials at one of our houses, you can also donate items to the ReStore to be sold. All proceeds from items sold in the ReStore support our mission.

Donations of Tools – We appreciate tool donations and welcome a discussion regarding your contribution toward our building efforts. Contact our office to start the conversation. Excess tools not needed by our affiliate will be sold in our ReStore at 115 N Broadway. All of the proceeds from items sold in the ReStore help support our mission.

Other Ways to Donate

Donate your vehicle – The ‘Cars for Homes‘ program takes donated cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RV’s and other vehicles and sells them through automobile auctions, recyclers or salvage yards to raise funds that build simple, decent homes for Habitat. Sales of vehicles benefit the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate and community where the donation is made. Call Habitat for Humanity Cars for Homes at 1-877-277-HFHI (4344) toll free, or visit http://www.carsforhomes.org.

ReStore – Remodeling, cleaning, down-sizing or just getting organized? Whatever your project, don’t let the items you no longer need end up in your local landfill. Habitat ReStores divert hundreds of tons from landfills each year, accepting items such as new and used furniture, cabinets, appliances and surplus building materials. Best of all, proceeds from the sale of donated goods help families build a foundation for the future. Don’t have anything to donate? Shop at the ReStore! You never know what treasures you’ll find at great prices.

Recycle Your Bottles and Cans – drop off your empties at any of the 3 locations listed below. Schenectady Habitat has an account at both redemption centers so please specify Habitat as the recipient.
