Community Builder

Welcome to Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County’s Community Builder Program! As a Community Builder, you’ll be helping families every month. Your recurring gift sustains our year-round building efforts, guaranteeing that the funds needed to buy construction materials are always available.

Q: Why should I give monthly?

A: Because by committing to give monthly, you’re helping to ensure that we can continue to work our mission. Also, it’s a lot easier to budget for a monthly gift instead of larger, once a year contribution. For example, most people would find it much easier to come up with $25 each month versus  $300 at one time. Those smaller, more manageable monthly gifts, when added up over the course of a year, have a huge impact.

Q: How much should I give?

A: That is up to you and your budget! All donations, big and small make a difference. For example, $5/month = $60/year. $60 helps us buy framing nails. $100/month = $1,200/year which will help us buy bathroom fixtures and a kitchen sink! See how it all adds up?!

Q: How does it work?

A: When you click our donate button, you will be taken to our secure online donation page. Be sure to choose the option to make your donation a recurring gift and complete the information. Then each month your gift will automatically be transferred from your credit card to Habitat. There are no checks to write or letters to mail. You will receive a year-end tax receipt for your cumulative contributions.

Q: I have more questions. Who do I contact?
